Staying Focused in the gym

Staying Focused in the gym

The old saying “If you fail to plan you plan to fail” rings true in many areas of life, but particularly when it comes to your health and fitness goals. However, in regards to weight training routines, most people don’t seem to have a plan… I can almost guarantee you that the people who trot into the gym each week and just do a ‘bit of this and a bit of that’ have not made any significant progress since the first 6 months of training (everyone makes gainz in the first 6 months, you could get bigger just by putting other people’s weights away). This approach might work fine for some, but for those who want to improve – get bigger, faster, stronger, leaner – a proper training plan is necessary! Unless you want to be slugging away for the next few years going no-where, we suggest you find yourself an experienced coach (with real industry experience, not just someone who looks good in their social media posts) or at the very least start on a structured weight training plan.

Now we have established that you need to structure your weight training to achieve your physique goals, so what plan do you use? These days there are so many to choose from on the internet and each PT or ‘Instagram Fitspo Star’ seems to have a different spin on “The One” way to train. The truth is that most programs will work to some degree for most people; however, there are a few points that every successful plan has in common:

  • Compound Movements that engage the most amount of muscle and increase calorie expenditure.
  • Progressive Overloading to challenge and stimulate the body to insure plateaus are minimal.
  • Uses tried and tested exercises that reduce the chance of injury.

So where do you go from here? The new and improved Planet Max 8 Week Transformation Challenge ticks all these boxes and is designed to help you achieve a new stronger/healthier body. Not only do you get two fully structured training plans within the 8 weeks, but you also get two 3 day meal plans, 5 consults and body measurements.
