What is it? ALTERED STATE Pre-workout by ALTERED NUTRITION is walking off the shelves here at PLANETMAX and is the flavour of the month atm. The hype, in my opinion is warranted, this is a well-rounded pre-workout with a great balance of stimulants, endurance, pump and even some no-tropics to keep the focus and avoid the dreaded crash. With 7 great flavours to choose from we have a winner.
Who should take it? More for the intermediate to advanced trainer who is wanting to push for some new Personal Bests. This is going to be a great product to boost gym sessions and sporting events alike.
What does it do? ALTERED STATE is powered by 3 different blends that synergistically combine to give you the full workout experience.
STIMULANT BLEND: a single serve of ALTERED STATE has a whopping dose of 250mg of caffeine/Di Caffeine Malate blend. To compliment the caffeine, we have some English Walnut, Hordenine and Synephrine. The English walnut is about as close as our legal system will allow us to the old school DMAA products, not quite the same feel, though still noticeable.
PUMP ENDURANCE BLEND: All the usual suspects here with Citrulline and Agmapure for pump and Beta Alanine for endurance. A solid base, now for the interesting stuff. Pine Bark extract adds an extra dimension by increasing Nitric Oxide levels and improving endurance in several University studies performed on young, healthy Humans. If that wasn’t enough, they have added one of my all-time favourites in Astragin. I love Astragin because it makes everything else in the pre-workout get absorbed into the blood SO MUCH more efficiently. The addition of Astragin in any pre-workout produces a Night and Day difference in effectiveness, really noticeable.
FOCUS MATRIX: No point having a ton of stims and feeling anxious or scattered. Tyrosine, Alpha GPC and Theanine are going to ensure your brain has a steady supply of neurotransmitters to maintain focus and deliver a first-rate gym session.
How do I take it? Seasoned Athletes will require between 1 to 1.5 scoops in 200mls of water 15-30 minutes before exercise, while regular gym goers will only need about half this amount to obtain a noticeable boost in energy and performance.
